Welcome to the new web site! It is not a huge change, but this new backend will definitely give the web site a little more room for growth and provide a lot more flexibility. There's more features for you too. The top and side menus now collapse, the calendar is integrated and there is expanded functions for all users. Not all of the work is done yet, but I have the structure in place. There is a temporary gallery installed until I can get the old gallery converted some time in the next month, so you won't miss a single photo!

As well, after hearing from a few readers, I brought the cover page back. The web site just wasn't right without it and to start off the new format, this month's cover goes to Cicada Rhythm, who kicked off their 10th year with A Night of GhettoTech in Lawrence, KS. I am indeed sorry that I missed out on that, but I could not manage to even get out of my driveway that night. They will be rockin a bunch of more shows and their next one is just around the corner with Roy Davis Jr. on the 17th of February. If you are in the area, be sure to check it out!

It's hard to believe the month slipped away as quick as it did. It seems like just the other day we took this shot, when we all got together with our friend Gwen Diamond, when she came back to Kansas City for Christmas. It was good to see her again and we definitely wish her success in her new career!

January ended up being a slow month overall, mostly because of the redevelopment. As well, the weather kind of trapped all of us a few times on the weekends. Brian finally thawed himself out in St Louis and got to celebrate his birthday with a full house at the Bad Boy Bill show and even Eric kicked in some photos from the Grand Emporium last weekend. Drop in on the new temp gallery and have a look!

Oh! And speaking of Eric... another good friend, actually two... are coming to town. Eric (DJ Velvin) and Shandi! It will definitely be good to see them again! Be sure to keep your eye on the calendar. I think that they are playing in a couple of different places... be there and I will see you on the dance floor!
